About Design & Lo

Hove in East Sussex now serves as Design & Lo’s base after relocating from London in 2021. Working on projects mainly in London, the South East and the home counties, the team also cover projects in the UK and further afield.

We believe our style is the perfect balance of modern design with classic traditional detailing. Timeless interior elegance is at the heart of each project, blended with a mix of eclectic items, colourful, and patterned features, expertly mixing eras and details, to create the perfect interior alchemy.

Creating considered and functional designs is at the forefront of each of our projects and our team works tirelessly to create spaces that are individual and elegant in style. We offer a personalised service, working with clients closely to understand their vision and turn it into a reality. With our experience in architectural design, we plan around scale, form and light with a strong sense of usability to ensure our interiors are beautiful yet functional.

Lois Skelding Founder and Design Director

With over 10 years’ experience and a first-class degree in Interior Architecture and Design, Lois has a wealth of experience working on award-winning projects in both high-end residential and boutique hospitality design. One of the most notable projects in Lois’s portfolio was restaurant Alchemist in Copenhagen, recently voted 5th best restaurant in the world with two Michelin Stars. She spent many years working for reputable design practices in London before founding Design & Lo studio in 2019.

Lois is an SBID Accredited Interior Designer and leads an experienced team, creating distinctive and striking interiors that skilfully balance form, colour, texture and scale. Lois has an eye for blending a range of textures, patterns and antiques together with a classic modern aesthetic, creating something truly individual. Lois is very passionate about creating sophisticated designs incorporating quality craftsmanship, seamlessly blending these elements to create distinctive and unforgettable spaces.
